“Our guiding principle was to create a park-like space, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city. We achieved this by introducing a linear, outer development surrounding the inner courtyard, with buildings nestled amongst the greenery. Their free-standing arrangement creates an irregular framework for interlocking courtyards, made unique by the preservation of many old, tall trees, large expanses of greenery and the natural, undulating topography of the site” – Michał Badowski, architect at HRA Architekci.
The fourth and final phase of the popular Mickiewicz Estate is situated on Rudzka Street, on the border between Żoliborz and Bielany, between Mickiewicza Street and Stawy Kellera Park, in an intimate, green and popular part of Warsaw.
The buildings in the fourth phase of the Mickiewicz Estate are free from toxic materials. The thermal insulation used in them effectively reduces heating costs, whilst the large, triple-glazed windows, fitted with air vents featuring dust and allergen filters, flood the interiors with natural light. The development is applying for BREEAM certification.
