Description

Osiedle Mickiewicza

The Mickiewicza housing estate very quickly gained recognition amongst residents and won many awards. Its bright and modern, simple yet solid architecture has been carefully integrated into the preserved old trees. The arrangement of windows, loggias and balconies, as well as the breaks in the façade created by subtle architectural details, give rise to interesting architectural features. The free-flowing layout of the buildings has created an irregular grid of interlocking courtyards, made unique by the expanses of greenery and the undulating terrain.

Skanska’s Mickiewicza estate comprises intimate, fully daylit buildings designed to be comfortable and accessible. There is also an unusual feature here: drawing on the traditional concept of community centres, we have created a communal meeting area and provided access to a residents’ club. It is a people-centred project, with design solutions that reflect the Scandinavian lifestyle and the peaceful character of the neighbourhood.

The estate comprises eight completed buildings, delivered in four phases.

Prime location

The new apartments in Warsaw’s Bielany district comprise eight completed buildings, delivered in four phases. Skanska’s Osiedle Mickiewicza is situated in a quiet neighbourhood at the junction of Żoliborz and Stare Bielany. The centres of these close-knit neighbourhoods and their attractions are just a few minutes’ walk away. These include Wilson Square (Pl. Wilsona), the Wisła cinema, the Komedia theatre, libraries and popular playgrounds.

Stawy Kellera Park and the Bielański Forest nature reserve are just a few minutes’ walk away, whilst a stroll to Kępa Potocka on the River Vistula takes a quarter of an hour. These are natural, biologically active areas ideal for recreation and sport, including winter sports. Swimming and tennis enthusiasts are welcome at the Żoliborz OSiR, 1.3 kilometres away, and the city centre can be reached by public transport in about a dozen minutes.
