Holm House

We took the name Holm House from the Swedish word ‘holm’, which means ‘island’. It was intended to be an architecturally unique island in the heart of Mokotów. As the estate has expanded in successive phases with new buildings, we can already speak of an archipelago. However, each resident here retains their own private space. The estate is designed so that more private zones naturally form within it. As a whole, Holm House is a well-functioning, aesthetically pleasing and coherent residential complex in Warsaw.

Several renowned architectural and art studios were involved in the development of the Skanska Holm House estate. As a result, the Holm House project comprises bright, modern buildings with simple forms that have blended seamlessly into a part of the district known for its business character. At the same time, the communal areas have been designed to minimise architectural barriers: a minimal number of kerbs and steps make it easy to move around the estate, whilst driveways, threshold-free lifts and lightweight doors facilitate access to the buildings. The visual appeal of this development is complemented by large wooden windows, high-quality, eco-friendly finishing materials and details by acclaimed designer Oskar Zięta – his lamps illuminating the entrance to the estate’s first building have been dubbed ‘skylights’.
